Information for Parents
Kansas Eta is a Balanced Man chapter of the national Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. It is our goal to be balanced men, an ancient ideal coming directly from the Greek culture that became the basis of our Western Heritage. In our striving to have both a "sound mind and a sound body", we persevere to be the best in academics, intramural sports, campus activities, and brotherhood development.
The Balanced Man Program replaces the old pledge-model used by many other fraternities. The Balanced Man Program allows for continuous member development and is designed to keep all members of the chapter involved from their first day until they graduate. Also, the Balanced Man Program allows our chapter to work on many philanthropic events, social functions, and learn from older members of our chapter. As we progress through each of the stages of the BMP (Sigma, Phi, Epsilon, and Brother Mentor), we learn the values that our fraternity stands for, and how to apply them in our everyday life.
Kansas Eta has a zero-tolerance hazing policy, and works hard to combat the "frat-boy" image. By working diligently on all our endeavors, we strive for excellence in all things, which is shown in our awards and recognition over the years.
Thus, we hope that you see, as we do, that Sigma Phi Epsilon is a wonderful environment to be a part of. In all areas, we believe that Sigma Phi Epsilon at Kansas Eta is the ultimate opportunity to be involved in the college experience, and be very successful while doing so.
