Requirements of Membership
There are certain things that are expected of any member of the fraternity. These requirements need to be met in order to stay an active member in good standing.
- Monday Meetings - Every Monday at 7:00 we have a meeting. At this meeting we discuss all the upcoming events and changes within the fraternity. These are required for all undergraduate members.
- 2.75 GPA - Because we are all students first, we make sure that the fraternity helps your academic success rather than hurts it. If this GPA is not met you will be put on academic or social probation.
- Philanthropy Events - Every semester we have a few required philanthropic events that help our partnered organizations. These will only last a few hours each and normally have some theme to make them fun.
- Membership Dues - Like every other national fraternity, we are required to pay monthly dues. These go to pay for our utilities(HD Digital Cable, Wireless Internet, etc.) and our national office. Currently, the dues amount to around $130 a month.
Although these are all requirements, we can work with you to make sure that the fraternity is an experience you will enjoy. Many often say that "you get out of the fraternity what you put into it." You can just do the minimum requirements to be a member or you can take advantage of all the other events and experiences available to you through Sigma Phi Epsilon.
